HD picture quality

At times I get a better picture from our aerial than the tivo box on HD channels,is this common and is there a cure ? Faces and figures seem to be almost liquid looking.

Re: HD picture quality

Hello dunx611 and vwt5,

Sorry to learn you're both experiencing a poor picture but I would just to know a bit more information.

  • Is this happening on every HD channel?
  • Are any SD channels being affected?
  • Have you tried a different HDMI cable?
  • Has rebooting the box by the mains made any difference?

Looking forward to hearing from you Smiley Happy

Re: HD picture quality

Not all HD channels affected,SD channels seem ok,will try reboot. Some programmes seem jerky at different times, almost pixelated, but only a minor niggle. HDMI cable should be ok only installed last summer but the outside cable entry cover has fallen apart in the cold weather !

Re: HD picture quality

This definitely should not be the case it may be the signal levels, the idea of cable is that it doesn't suffer from the effects of bad weather like aerials & dishes, & provide a good image in SD & HD. Regards Micky
