Cabling my street

Hey guys,

How can I find out when Virgin Media is cabling my street??  I've put in my request to 'Cable My Street' several times now, but just don't ever get a response apart from the usual response - 'Your road is not in a cabled area' - but I know this, but would like know when the company is cabling the street.

I am on a broadband that is 13mbps and Freeview that is being problematic at the moment.

Re: Cabling my street

Is there cable in adjacent streets?

Is there cable in your town at all?

If there is cable in adjacent streets, then infill build has a good chance of happening if enough of your neighbours have also contacted Virgin & shown an interest. If its not in the immediate area then your chances go down. If there is no cable in your town, & no infrastructure within 10-15 miles then its a lost cause.

Question 1:  Yes there is.
Question 2:  Yes there is, as I live in London.

I'm not sure about the last bit (re: the neighbors).

Re: Cabling my street

The neighbours bit is quite important. If VM are going to cable an entire street, they will want a good chance of a return on their outlay. There is infill going on in my town, but only in streets where around 50 - 75% of the households want it. There is also a good chance that the neighbours will accept having their pavements & driveways dug up a little more if they want the service that will result from it.
