Bluetooth

Is it possible to use a bluetooth headset from my Tivo box, please?

I have impaired hearing which means having to use higher volume or subtitles, which annoys the wife (!), so can I use/fit anything to the Tivo box so that bluetooth headphones could be used, whilst not interfering with normal sound transmission?

Re: Bluetooth

You could purchase a device like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Transmitter-Receiver-TaoTronics-Wireless-Black/dp/B06WD8Z21S

Which you could connect to the optical out of the TiVo box to allow you to do what you wish. Your Bluetooth headphones would then connect to the device.

Re: Bluetooth

it could be done, you'd need 2 things

one of these

https://www.amazon.co.uk/UGREEN-Bluetooth-Receiver-Wireless-Headphone/dp/B01J5DYWVA/ref=sr_1_10?ie=U...

and one of these

https://www.amazon.co.uk/scart-3-5mm-socket-adaptor-audio/dp/B00136X340/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=15090...

Plug the scart into the tivo and the 3,5mm into the scart and the bluetooth adaptor, the tivo has a usb port on the rear so you can keep the device charged locally

Just to point out, that the device I've posted above means you'd only need one thing Smiley Wink

Re: Bluetooth

Bluetooth, yes, your solution is cheaper but sound input is analogue. The optical connection is digital.
Just thought I’d point that out for others who maybe reviewing the options.

Re: Bluetooth

Can I just clarify that the only connection needed is the optical cable and then it will pair up to either bluetooth earphones or bluetooth speaker. My tv does not have a jack plug for earphones so I can't use the majority of transmitters that are on sale.

Re: Bluetooth

Yes, the one I linked to does both (it can actually do so in both directions too - but not at the same time)
