Hello I have recently had a TiVo box installed and to use it I have to use the tv anywhere app due to the location of the box. The app recognises I have the box its serial number is in the top corner, however it won't let me use this as a controller it brings up the error message "not connected to TiVo box on home network" but it definitely is all on the correct wifi.

We're glad to hear all is working for you now since posting. Sometimes the ethernet cable can become disconnected if bumped or anything so that's always the first place to check when you get this error message.
