2nd Tivo box

Hi,

we are existing virgin customers and bought a 2nd set top TiVo box from ebay but it does not work upstairs.  the fibre cable is connected as well as the hdmi and power cable.

we are not trying to obtain multiroom, we just want to be able to watch tv upstairs.  the box stays on the start up screen.  it has a permanent blue light and a flashing red light.

any ideas?

Re: 2nd Tivo box

You've bought what is essentially stolen property, so the box will never work. All VM equipment remains the property of VM and can only be installed & activated by them.

What you describe is multi-room.

Re: 2nd Tivo box

Yes. Return it to the eBay seller and get your money back. Virgin Media TV and Broadband kit bought from eBay or any other third party site, will never work.

Virgin Media kit is rented and not sold outright, and so the only place you can get working Virgin Media kit is from Virgin Media.

An additional TiVo box directly from Virgin Media would cost £14.99 activation and then £7.50 extra a month.
