1080i and 1080p (Pass-thru)

So from what I can see on the web using Google, 1080p is the best picture quality.

My set-top box has a tick in both 1080i and 1080p (pass-thru only) in the settings page.

How do I best connect my TV then to get 1080p from my Tivo box to the television?

I have a 4K Panasonic TV btw...

Re: 1080i and 1080p (Pass-thru)

There is only one way to connect your TiVo to your TV, via an HDMI cable.

Broadcast TV on Virgin Media has a maximum 1080i and your TV will upscale this to 4K for display.

TiVo apps, such as Netflix, can passthru 1080p to your TV which again will upscale this to 4K.
