Hi,
50Mb broadband installed this morning, and the download speeds are great, typically I'm getting close to 50 most of the day dropping to about 35-40 at worst in the evening. However, the upload speeds are uniformly bad all day long - varying between 400kbps to just over 600kbps. I was expecting speeds closer to 1Mbps.
Called the support line and they ran some line tests - everything came back fine. Was told that I should be getting above 1Mbps upload speed and basically they didn't want to believe that I wasn't getting that. Admittedly they spent a long time trying to come up with a way for me to prove it... (unsuccessfully)
Speedtest.net shows the following

I also tried uploading some large files to various places and - the transfer rate hovered around 600kbps.
Nothing obvious in the event log, and the connection info is given below.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi
What area do you live in and have you checked to see if you have been upgraded to the 5Mb upload speed yet? Here is a link for their PDF document for you to check:

Have you performed a test on pingtest.net to see if your line quality is tip top? Do you have any backup software then uploads when your computer is on?
Hope that helps
Many Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I'm in the Corydon area, which I notice is suffering a service interruption since this morning. According to the upgrade schedule the 5Mb upload upgrade is in "planning" for my area.
I did run a a test at pingtest.net yesterday and it was fine but didn't save the output for posting and I'm pretty sure there was nothing else uploading at the same time as the speedtest.
Lets see how things change after this current disruption is fixed.

Hi again,
ok, turns out the disruption in my area (croydon) didn't seem to affect my connection.
Still seeing the same problem of upload pegging at 600kbps even during what I imagine are relatively quiet times.
Connection information looks the same as I've already posted at the top and there are very few entries in the event log - no more than a handful of errors since getting the service.
Just redone a speedtest and a pingtest:

Hi GreyTranslation,
We need to take a look at your connection to investigate this but as the last time you accessed these forums was not from your home connection we are unable to locate your account. Therefore I have sent you a PM, can you please reply with the information requested and we will look into this for you.

Hi GreyTranslation,
Could you perform a small test for me please. Could you log into the SuperHub configuration pages and go to the Advanced settings. Then could you choose the DMZ Host page and change the default MTU size to 1487. Once you have done this please click apply and then run the speedtest again from speedtest.net and the London server to see if your upload speed increases

Unless its pure coincidence that seems to have had a significant effect:

Setting it back to 0 (ie default) seems to push the speed back down again... Switching back to 1487 and the upload speed returns - ruling out coincidence I think.
Looks like that's solved the problem.
The upload speed is now much improved. Many thanks!!!

Hi Guys
Just browsing through this post as I was having exactly the same problme.
In the Devon area on 50meg and hardly ever able to get above 600k on upload tests.
Made the changes suggested, just checked speed and got 1.56; ran test again and got 1.35 (http://speedtest.net/result/1348122465.png) whooppeee.
