VPN - Cisco AnyConnect - Not working - Unable to work from my Home Office

I have been using Cisco Anyconnect to connect my laptop to my employer since Oct 2012 via BT Infinity and a BT Home Hub,  All worked perfectly with good setup, stability and performance.

Today 17/5/2013 after an installation on the 11/5/2013, I tested my VPN link.

I am unable to connect!!!

I am unable to carry out work from my home office - this is a critical issue for me!

I have:

1. Tested the VPN is good by using my iPhone.

2. Tested I can Tracert to the VPN server.

3. Disabled the Firewall and re-booted the SuperHub

4. Enabled the firewall

4a. Enabled all passthrough IPSec & PPTP

4b. Disabled all detections Port Scan & IP Flood

5. Put SuperHub into StupidHub mode (Modem mode).

5a. Connected directly via Cable into Modem and get network IP

!!Non of these steps work!!

6. Sanity checked that connection to my local BTWiFi hotspot and the connection worked perfectly.

I called the VM technical line, I spoke with customer services, then directed me to a paid service line, who directed me back to customer services, who directed me to an engineer.  They went through each of the above steps with me, and recommended step 5.

I believe there is a fault, block, limitation or configuration in the network that is limiting my ability to connect.

I cannot share my Tracert or log files in public, my employer will not modify the server side of the VPN.

Please advise how I can connect to my company when I work from home over the VPN?

Please note - if I am unable to connect via VM broadband to my companies VPN, then I will likely need to cancel my contract and return the items.  The service will not be fit for purpose.

Sorry Additional Notes

4c. Added the specific machine as the DMZ

Likely not a problem at your end (or unlikely) and its doubtful that VM are stopping your VPN from working so likely the remote end your trying to connect to has a whitelist of IP's so you need to let them add your new IP now that your with VM and not BT and note that your IP could change at any time but unlikely.

Believing is catch 22 the VMDG280 should never of been made the Super hubs 1 & 2 could have been built better the years go by and we can't see the mistakes that were made to make things right.
The more that use modem mode the more we need IPv6: Pingtest, BQM, Speed Test, Outgoing ports test

Further update.

As of last week I can now 'log-in' to the VPN and establish a connection.

However performance is so slow that a basic page cannot load.

As mentioned - I have never had an issue connecting via hotspots, hotels, over 3G off a mobile etc.

This is unique to VM.

Is this in modem mode ? If not try that?

If modem mode does not work you need to get your admin to whitelist the new IP.

Hi Croyles,

Sorry to hear you're still getting slow speeds with your VPN. I've run a test of your connection and all shows fine. Are the slow speeds only affecting the VPN? Also are you connected via ethernet or wireless when this happens?
