Strange Speed Issue with 50mb

In all likelyhood it's not a Virgin issue, hopefully someone can help anyway.....

 

On my computer (wired - cat 6, straight from router) I'm getting 0.5mb downstream :/

 

But on my GFs laptop (wireless) she's getting 25mb.

 

Usually I get 45+, I can deal with 25mb, but 0.5mb is very slow when I should be getting 50!

 

Im using windows XP, never had an issue before have stopped all running applications, no downloads etc, defo havent incurred traffic management, restarted, im out of ideas! Any suggestion?

If GF's laptop is getting 25Mb and you are only getting 0.5 it points straight to you PC. Do a full scan with Malwarebytes (free here) and a virus scan with your AV prog just to make sure there is nothing you cannot identify running in the background.
