Not sure what i can do about it, the connection used to be great but has got worse over the last few months and sometimes it gets unusable.

Re: Speed, Ping and Jitter again

Your downstream power is a tad too low and your upstream power is too high.  So that's the first thing to address and to do that you'd need to phone VM and poke them into sending out an engineer.

If the problem persists, and it's bad at evenings and weekends, then chances are it's a utilisation issue which only the forum techs here could say for sure (and it will take them 3 to 7 days to see this thread so long as it is not bumped).

Hi Jrfrost,

As Zootlewurdle said the local power levels are off.

I have sent you a PM regarding this.

Re: Speed, Ping and Jitter again

After a few days of testing online gaming is useless, powerlevels are fine but packet loss and ping are a complete joke What's the point of paying for a premium connect when it's practically unusable half the time

Re: Speed, Ping and Jitter again

Can you post a ping graph that shows an entire day?  Ideally a weekday.  Idea being to see if the connection looks 'normal' during daytime hours and then goes horrific in the evenings.  That would then suggest utilisation.  Bit disappointing that wasn't checked by the forum tech in their first response.

Re: Speed, Ping and Jitter again

For sum reason the quality monitor never shows the whole day (shows 100% packet loss) even though the modem is on all day.  The respond to wan pings box is definately ticked.

This the graph from yesterday, this looks good compared to previous days.

Re: Speed, Ping and Jitter again

Hi jrfrost

I have just checked the network segment to which your superhub is connected. I haven't seen any problems over the last few days.Mypings in are all low, there are some utilisation peaks during peak hours but not at a level I would expect to cause you major issues. If you are still having difficulties please supply a recent ping and tracert to bbc.co.uk taken from a command prompt and post the results.

Re: Speed, Ping and Jitter again

Hi Mark,

The problem occurs regularly every night around 9pm some times earlier and last for 1 or two hours.  Xbox live connection goes really bad.

a good connection with a maximum of 4 bars suddenly goes to 2 bars and is unplayable at times.
