Router Disconnection

Had 50Meg since 2/2/11, was great for about 3 hours. Left computer turned on and went and watch t.v. for an hour or so, come back and modem/router had lost connection. Used old faithful (Turn off Turn on), worked:smileyvery-happy: Went to use next morning same thing lost connection, contacted VM sent another router out to solve problem, still happening getting fed up now.

After reading the problems on this site thinking I should have left well alone and stayed on my 20Meg. Calling them again tomorrow to try and solve issue but doubt i'll have any look:smileymad:

Re: Router Disconnection

It's not really router disconnection you are suffering from, just the notsosuperhub!

Re: Router Disconnection

If you can be bothered, do post the full modem stats and event log so we can judge whether or not there is an identifieable problem.

Re: Router Disconnection

... and the event log please?

Is your upstream power stable or does it hit 55 dBmv or higher?

Re: Router Disconnection

If the events occurred out of the blue today at 07:xx UTP (which is 08:xx GMT) then there appear to be downstream issues on your line although the stats show model power levels and SNR.

Loss of Sync and FEC framing is usually a downstream issue is likely to be in the system somewhere unless the SuperDud is playing up (which I doubt).

Re: Router Disconnection

Thanks for the help Sephiroth, just to let you know it did it again whilst I was asleep this afternoon.

Left the computer on doing a scan got up at 18:00 and lost connection again. Will call VM after work in the morning as I'm still waiting for my dongle to arrive also.
