Need help contacting tech support

Hi there,

I'm having a lot of trouble contacting Virgin's tech support, after being thrown around various different phone numbers with people telling me I've called the wrong number I was told to email virgin using the website, but the site asks me for a virgin email address which I do not have, I was never given one.

Does anybody have a direct phone number or email address that I could contact? I think emailing would be better as the people I was talking to didn't understand my question over the phone.

Essentially I just have two questions, how can I extend my wireless signal upstairs in my house as the room our router and virgin socket are in has a lot of insulation and the wifi can't get out of the room.

The Second question is why was I never given a virgin email address so I can use the tech chat option?

If anybody can answer my questions without me having to call up more help lines I would really appreciate it!

All the best :-)

Re: Need help contacting tech support

For help with your TV or Phone and for Internet Technical Support:

Call Product Support/Faults on 151 from your Virgin Media Phone. It's absolutely free.

Or call 0845 454 1111 from any other phone line.

much quicker than waiting for a VM support person in this forum

up to 4 days wait

Re: Need help contacting tech support

Thanks for replying! Unfortunately that's the number I've already tried. When I asked them how I could extend the range of my wifi they just kept repeating that they could see that my signal was fine, I kept re phrasing the question but in the end I just gave up :-(

You have already admitted that you cannot extend the range of your wireless connection due to the insulation etc blocking the signal from the room where the router is situated.

The obvious and simple answer is to relocate your router, VM will do this for you at a cost of about £100 plus, or you could buy a couple of ethernet extention cables for about £10 and do it yourself.
