Hi,
Since getting upgraded I seem to be getting disconnects at random times which is very annoying during online gameplay as it seems to happen at a vital moment.
I have checked through the modem log and there are some critical errors cropping up. Is this serious and in need of visit from VM or other VM action.

The evidence of requent disconnects is there in the event log, but the stats are fine.
That sugests the fault is hidden from you and could be at the other end or in the works. In other word, I believe it likely that the upstream is misbehaving. This needs a competent person to look at the stats held at the CMTS to see what's happening to your upstream.
You can call i t in to the dedicated 50 meg help line (an 0800 number that I've forgotten but you can search for that) or you can wait for tech support to do their thing here on the forum.

Well I rang the freephone number and got an instant answer which is great, no automated stuff.
I ran through the problem and was given the answer there are no network issues in your area, he did mention that it may be due to the line being used heavily in my areaa and then asked me to log into my router.
When I logged into my router he asked me to change my wireless channel from 13 to 11 as this may stop the disconnects.
Now as a network tech myself I dont see how doing this can have any effect on the line dropping or not, if somebody could clarify his? But he sent an email to a tech to have a look over as I was not happy with his solution.

You're obviously correct, Dave.
Line drops are nothing to do with the router/wireless which is why we like to see the event log to prove there are line disconnects.

This reminds me so much of what AOL told someone i know yesterday.
Their router keeps loosing sync and cycling and AOL said it is their new computer thats the cause and when they stated it cant be because its even doing it with their old one they were told well the new computer must have caused the problem lol
