Re: Bristol BS1 problems F001492151 - 8 months in! Do we have a fix date?

Hi VM,

Thanks for the update... although I'm not holding my breath as I've been given false hope with fix dates before.

Just for the record, the new fix date of the 21/10/11 is pretty much 12 months to the day since I reported the initial fault. Is that a record? 12 months to plan and install new repeaters on a fibre which is already in place!

I'd appreciate any updates you have please on this latest fault ticket.

Thanks,

Nick

Re: Bristol BS1 problems F001492151 - 8 months in! Do we have a fix date?

Hello,

Dont mean to jump in on your thread but I live in Bristol and am havign the same problems. I have spoken to VM several times. They know it’s a problem with their network. They have clearly over sold the product and they can’t cope with demand. My internet is so bad during the normal high usage periods (evenings and weekends) that I can’t even run anything like speedtest.net anymore. They really need to make an announcement, but I think they know that to do that would not help them. They have admitted to me that they have breached contract and Im free to leave if I want to. I’m going to wait until 2 Nov. They gave me a fix date of the 25th, but beleive it or not the guys avtually said I cant garantee this will fix the problem!!!!

They can’t do anything.I dotn understand why they seem to be takign so long to do thie aztec upgrade! I would advise complaining through the complaints area on the contact us section on the main website. You'll just be another statistic, but that’s all you can do. I've even contacted watchdog!

Re: Bristol BS1 problems F001492151 - 8 months in! Do we have a fix date?

Hi James,

I've been through all of the channels of complaint. I was even given a £240 rebate for the period that I was complaining for. I'm already out of my contract but I've always, up until 12 months ago, been very happy with my cable service

I'm giving them a chance to fix the error and if they don't, I'll be back on to them for a further refund.

My main problem aside from my abysmal connection during peak times is the lack of information on the solution which is why I keep posting on here for updates. I then use the information as ammunition when I speak to customer service

Ah, got you, I feel like I could do that sometimes! Drives me mad that something so simple as upgrading hardware can take so long!

I'd love a 1:1 with a Virgin Media CEO :smileymad:

Re: Bristol BS1 problems F001492151 - 8 months in! Do we have a fix date?

its not just upgrading your home router thougk. its replacing parts that may need planning permission to lay new cables and parts that can run close the the £50,000 mark. not just a £5 cat5 cable :smileyhappy:

it shouldn;t take as long as it does but you can understand. they need to plan test and work arounf others. without disconnecting parts of the network.

Re: Bristol BS1 problems F001492151 - 8 months in! Do we have a fix date?

Anthony,

There's no cables to run, they're already in. VM have stated in a previous post that it's just the amplifiers/repeaters on the alreay installed fibre route between my green box and Aztec west. I understand that this can take some planning, but 12 months!

My issue is that it isn't just me, but a whole load of people in my area. I think it's just me that's being vocal about it. If it does cost 50K, that's fine as it's probably a couple of thousand people with sub standard service in my area.

I've been and still am being reasonable about it. If i wasn't I'd just leave but I know how good cable BB can be. I just wish VM would stop fibbing to me about fix dates and actually do something about it,
