I used to be on 50Mb and had a old-style modem. Absolutely flawless.
I then downgraded to 30Mb and was going to leave, purely as a cost issue.
Rentension person came up with a deal, and I went back to 50Mb and we updgraded to TIVO also.
For some unknown reason, the TIVO install and re-instigation of 50Mb meant I had my modem swapped for a SH.
Ever since then I have had somm very weird internet connection issues. I go from stupidly fast (up to 120Mb - yes, its true, I was getting 10+ MBytes on downloads + speedtest verified.
More typically howver, I get very cruddy connection.
It is not uncommon for me to get F on pingtest: up to 20% packet loss and crazy pings and Jitter (both in the 100s and i have seen 1000+ for each!)
Flagged to tech sup. who deteted signal too high and sent engineer, who left a couple of Attenuators 6dB seems like the best.
From what I have read, my signal is now bang-in-line, but let me know if nything is wrong:
Still same very erratic performance though:
Am on R30
I have the SH set to Modem mode and run through a decent router
NO wifi - all hardwired.
seems similar to many posts, but any ideas well received / techs please invetsigate.
Thanks

Hi nickmorrisrdg,
I have checked your connection and can see that you are affected by a local upstream utilisation issue on your chassis (local router) which will cause your speed to slow during busy periods. This issue is currently with our Planning team who will be publishing a fix date for this issue as soon as possible. The reference for this issue is F001788232. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may be causing you.
