Re: m23 area vv bad speeds 5pm to 10 pm

Had to go out and purchase a "3" moblie broadband dongle earlier just so as to be able to download the latest patch to WoW.

Have been unable to even get to my homepage for much of the day whilst using the Virgin media service.

Absolutely shocking, even from such a 4th world service as is what i consider Vm to now be :smileysad:

Nowhere near mate, I dont really use the speedtest though, as a gamer the pingtest is much more useful too me but unable to post any results as I am unable to even have the page to load this evening,

Attempted to go in-game, managed to log in, latency climbing all the time and again absolutely unplayable, but, to just try and be a tad positive.. nor did I disconnect during the 20-30 minutes I tried to kid myself that I can enjoy the service I pay for.

Seems I've jinxed it now anyway. I thought for one shinning moment my normal internet service was resumed, just tried another speedtrest.net andnow its back down to 1mb on the download. Tried playing a few vids on youtube and they just kept freezing and hanging. Getting annoyed with this lack of service now this has been going on for at least a week now, I can only hope the 30th Nov maintenance window VM said was in place is actually true otherwise I'm ringing up to complain again and will be downgrading all my services.

I use my internet connection for work purposes too and this is just pittiful service that they allow mainenance windows to be so long and to affect so many customers like this.

Re: m23 area vv bad speeds 5pm to 10 pm

I'm in M14 and its really unusable. Its great in the morning or late at night but from 5 till midnight it’s a joke. A house full of 5 students and we have to share 0.5MB connection when we should be on 30MB. Only two months into a nine month contact, does anyone know how much it’s going to cost to get out of it?

Is that the date you've been told the fix is to happen?

I've posted earlier in this thread and for the M23 area and I was given 6th Nov..then the 23rd Nov and now the fix is apparently going to be 14th Dec.

None of this will happen.

Customer Services just pluck dates out of the air. This problem is shocking and it's affecting most of the UK.

For how much longer Virgin Media can get away with this before some 'Watchdog' steps in and tells them to sort it out I don't know but the they must be sinking under the flood of complaints.

Rather than phone Customer Services, or post on these help forums, where nothing will be done, there needs to be a concerted effort to show Virgin Media that enough is enough.

Re: m23 area vv bad speeds 5pm to 10 pm

Yeah I was told the 30th of Nov as the end of some kind of maintenance window, I also doubt I'll be surfing happy come the 1st Dec, but we'll see what happens on Thursday.

I know my parents have almost weekly issues with their VM broadband service and they live in the M18 area, the annoying thing is if yo phone to complai I just hate all the "You now have 5 Options....Press 1 for Sales....2 for....." its just so annoying I just wanna be able to speak to someone, and not just some guy reading from a script. I want to speak to someone technical and I want someone who can actually identify theres a problem and come back with a sensible solution. I dont even mind there being maintenance windows sometimes I realise they're required for upgrades etc. But when consistantly night after  night come about 4pm you just watch your internet connection grind to a halt its just plain frustrating.

I'd like to see a post on here from someone at VM to put something down in writing as to what the problem actually is and when its going to be resolved, or for them to even acknowledge theres a problem.

Re: m23 area vv bad speeds 5pm to 10 pm

Absolute joke of a service yet again today, not even near peak times yet the over utilisation issues are as evident as always,

Unable to navigate to almost anywhere on net after Homepage yet strangly this site will actually load more often than not,

Tried to go in-game..immediatly experienced extreme lag and disconnection issues, that's Sept Oct and now Nov completely lost to me, How will you ever compensate me for that VM ??
