Didn't understand much of that paragraph, Horse except that I haven't succeeded in encouraging VM to do anything of a transparent nature.

Talking about going round in circles, what's an "orbital periapsis"?  Is it what a circumschnickeled planet does?  Or does our friend Rocker have a special place there?

An Orbital Periapsis is the closest point in an Orbit to the Orbited object. It only occurs in an Elliptical orbit as a spherical orbit has an equal periapsis at all times.... And has a different name, Comets have a Periapsis whereas the earth has a Perigee. The opposite of a Periapsis is a Apoapsis, the furthest point. It is only used in general terms where the focus is not known. Our planets all have different names for it.

Periapsis

1= Apoapsis; 2= Periapsis; 3= Focus

I think, been a very long time since I did orbital mechanics....

Ah - so the Horse got it wrong.

If you look at his sentence "...Perhaps on his planets next "orbital periapsis" with ours..." - if Rocker's is a planet and ours is a planet, then we are not an orbited object in that context.

Not only did I not understand what he wrote, nor did he!. LOL double LOL.

Re: Virgin need to step it up to get the cab sorted on my road!!!!

No, it would be more accurate to say, if he lives in a different planet, then on his next orbital periapses with our sun, he could drop off some data, (of course that would rely on the earth being in close proximity of his planet at the time, not garanteed of course)

This is of course on the presumtion that I have remembered correctly in the first place, but tbh i've got better things to do, like persuade Virgin that my idea of a working connection and theirs is more akin to being on different planets than this thread lol.

Tell you what rocker, bring your xbox to my house, my pings measure in the 100's not 10's and my avg latency/jitter is 50-100, not 5-15.

Your better off calling 151 and asking to speak to the network team, explain the situation and go through them, you will stand a better chance of something being done.

I might also point out that Virgin are still having routing problems with MW3, if you search the forums, you will find the thread,

Oh but sir I think I did, and just like Shaggy I used the "generic term" referring to any celestial body orbiting another. I could have(more acceptably) specifically used the (derivation from the Greek) "gee" suffix to refer to a body orbiting the Earth and stated "Perigee" instead?

In Shaggy's example it would be "Perihelion" when orbiting the Sun! (Derived from "helios" the Greek for Sun).

Ironically my own "son" currently orbits Hatfield Uni reading AstroPhysics....  that is occassionaly, along with beer....women....lacrosse et al.  :smileywink:

However since it's a few years now since he's asked me to check his homework, I found this reference for you:smileyembarrassed: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periapse

But I take your point about mutual planets orbiting each other.... call it "artistic license", perhaps I should have said Mr Rocker lived on the moon and used "Pericynthion" instead? :smileywink:

Re: Virgin need to step it up to get the cab sorted on my road!!!!

I thought I'd revisit this thread just to check Mr Rockers "live" TBB traces but it appears only Gordons (his neighbour's) is still active and showing a very acceptable quality at least for last 24hrs at time of posting.

Therefore circumstantially it seems Rockers problem was probably limited to game play and perhaps Shaggy managed to identify/educate Mr Rocker wrt to any game peering issues?

Re: Virgin need to step it up to get the cab sorted on my road!!!!

So the summary is....

.......and Gordon's is still showing a good TBB graph like yours but presumably as he's still on a different upstream channel he's not experiencing the same number of T3's ?

However both of you percieve lag while playing COD but remaining Speed/Browsing no longer appears impaired?

Do both (or either) SH's "system up time" show any indication they are resetting during say specifically the period after 12am midnight  (this should re-zero the tick counters anyway!)?

Hi RockerSBM

In view of the facts that you have still not posted the speed tests requested several days ago, you are still rebooting the superhub and trying to pick up different channels, are still posting random stuff that has no bearing on the issues we are trying to help you with, and that you now have a senior tech visiting to try to help with this perceived issue that you have not posted any evidence to support, the support team will now be leaving this thread.

Good Luck.

This whole thread is hilarious.

You really should not have entertained this guys delusions for as long as you did. You wasted time on him that could have been used to help customers who actually have problems.

He will probably realise at some point he changed something on his PC that broke it all in the first place.

The thread title should changed to "Somebody talk to me I need attention".
