Various Errors in Virgin Media Gateway Event Logs resulting in loss of Internet Access.

At least once per day, sometimes much more frequently, I get the following errors in the Event Log in my Virgin Media Gateway.  This causes a loss of Internet connection, but the connection to other machines on the home network continues to work OK.

2 other small things I have noticed, just niggley things.....

  1. The Time is always 1 hour behind (I am assuming that the server it gets it from is on GMT?
  2. If the Session to the Hub times out, whenever I try to go back and log in I get the time out session and the window closes for quite a while until I can log back into the hub.

Here is the Event Log from yesterday :

Any help much appreciated.

Had same problem. Lots of posts dissing the service BUT called an engineer who fixed the termination outside the house, then added an attenuator to the hub. 3 days on so far so good. Still getting udp scans from the dns server whch kinda looks like a virus but not sure. Vm need to investigate further, if it aint a virus it dont oook too good too the more articulate customers. Also switched the fireall settings on as i for one dont want to be exposed to dos attacks.

Hi Rayhill

Just be awre when on the 36firmware that setting the firewall to anything other than "Low" appears to block ping, traceroute and ftp traffic. Not got around to investigating yet, but found this out the hard way.
