Re: **TS17** High latency, dropping connections; you name it I am getting it....HELP VM

Rang up again, and got the same spiel of "utilization" but not a network problem.

Im paying for a "part-time" connection, first it was peer to peer throttling then its an unusable connection after 4-5pm.

"oh hai we are virging media! rolling out 100mbit connections when we cant even get the basics right!"

Ofcom need to nail these idiots and straighten them out.

Re: **TS17** High latency, dropping connections; you name it I am getting it....HELP VM

I have been at work all day and don't leave here till 10pm, my wife says the internet has been virtually unusable today, if vigin don't sort this out then all my package is going back, i'm fed up with it now. All I want to do is surf and play online games, I did that better on my 56k modem too. After all, all I expect is what I pay for, is that too much to ask for? I personally think the 100 meg lines will just cause more of this. I might have to do some research on other providers. Virgin sort your s*** out or I'm leaving.

Has anyone had any feedback from virgin media yet? Just checked my connection and its still bad, going to phone customer services in an hour so they can tell me its not a network problem. If you have contacted vm, plz post their reply. Cheers paul.

Re: **TS17** High latency, dropping connections; you name it I am getting it....HELP VM

Hi Paulvickers,

Sorry we have not responded sooner, the reason for this is the order in which we reply to posts is based on the date/time of the last post within the thread. Each subsequent post within this thread essentially put the thread to the back of the queue. Therefore 'bumping' posts generally has the opposite affect.

I have checked the network and utilisation will be causing a degraded service. I have escalated this to our network department for investigation and I await the reference for this.

Regards.

Re: **TS17** High latency, dropping connections; you name it I am getting it....HELP VM

Thanks for the reply, can you explain what virgin do to alleviate utilisation problems. I work with a number of people who live in this postcode area, they are all experiencing the same problem, will this resolve their issues? Have virgin overstretched their network? I look forward to a prompt reply. Paul

Hi paulvickers,

A fault has been raised to our Networks team (ref. F001483321). There are plans in place to upgrade the UBR you are connected through. The estimated fix time is 28th February, though this is subject to change.

Regards,

Mike Jones
