Slow broadband speed in PR1- Preston area?

I am on the up to 10mb package and recently(for the past month or so) have been experiencing very slow internet. The speeds have been barely around 3mb at the best of times and today has been around 1mb! Youtube is virtually unusable as is the iplayer. I have tried to reset the modem and also followed the other tips from the Virgin site but to no avail. Can anybody help?

I have run checks on your connection, and although I can see no network faults or power level issues I can see a high number of T3 timeouts occurring on your modem - currently 108 timeouts in 4 hours.

 

As you are using one of our older modems, I would like to send you out a replacement modem for this issue, and have sent you a Private Message regarding this.

 

I can also see that you are fairly regularly tripping the traffic management limits on the system although not on 28/4/12 when your original post with the traceroute was made. If you need details of the traffic management policy, please see the article at This link  

 

If your connection has been throttled due to Traffic Management and you are still downloading or uploading large amounts of data, then the traceroute you posted would be typical and slow speeds would also be seen.
