Re: Slow Internet in Carshalton SM5 - Tech Please Help - Logs

Do a tracert and see if your UBR is the one of the ones affected, even though VM will not admit it.

Start button>run>cmd.exe

tracert bbc.co.uk

If the 1st or second ip address on the traceroute is one of the ip's below, expect it to take a month or 2 to resolve:

10.89.168.1

10.89.176.1

10.89.180.1

There is another 1 or 2 ubr's that start 10.89.1*.* that I have seen recently on the forums too, jsut cannot remember the ip's now.

Good luck getting your problem resolved, just don't hold your breath.

No more lag

Re: Slow Internet in Carshalton SM5 - Tech Please Help - Logs

I see you are on 10.89.184.1, not on the list but close enough physically and logically to be connected to the other issues.

There is a small chance you have your own signal/noise issues which a support person here will eventually check after 3 or so days.  Fingers crossed this is the problem for you and not 'upload utilization issues' like the majority are suffering in the surrounding area.

For the sake of the Support team...many faults logged in the last week on the following chasis:

10.89.168.1
10.89.172.1
10.89.176.1
10.89.180.1
10.89.184.1 (This customer)
Spot the pattern VM support people, I dare you to connect the dots and have a Eureka moment...

Join the party mate, living in cheam here and having the same issues, literally 5 minutes drive from you.

I wouldn't bother ringing 150, you'll most likely go mad, I spent the best part of 2 hours last week being told to clear my internet cache etc. Go to watchdog like the rest of us, we need to get this national to get VM to listen.

Re: Slow Internet in Carshalton SM5 - Tech Please Help - Logs

I'm also in Carshalton. The fix date is March 2011 I was told so i've quit my contract. I got a £60 credit before I did though so you should speak to CS and get some money back.

Then go elsewhere. Virgin don't deserve your business.

Re: Slow Internet in Carshalton SM5 - Tech Please Help - Logs

lets be honest, this is something big and they exacly know what is going wrong,

March 2011 in internet is way out of my acceptable waiting time.

I only hope that this problem is on my side if not than I am gone.

Tech. chaps .... still waiting for your replay
