Scientific Atlanta modem / router problems

For quite some time now I have had increasing problems with my broadband wi-fi connectivity.  I am experiencing these same issues on 2 different routers.

My connected devices sometimes fall off the wi-fi connection.  Sometimes they are connected to wi-fi, but cannot see the internet.  Sometimes recycling the power on the router clears the problem, sometimes the problem clears only when I recycle power on the modem.  Sometimes recycling the power is inadequate and its best to leave it all unplugged for half-an-hour or so.

Is it likely I can be seeing the same issue with 2 separate routers (one is a Netgear, the other Edimax).  Is there some internal setting I should be looking at?  Or could this be some strange interface problem with the modem?  The modem is Scientific Atlanta 2100.

I am grateful for any suggestion.

Re: Scientific Atlanta modem / router problems

Hi Bolton66,

I have sent a replacement modem for you and you should receive it in the next 3-5 working days. We no longer send out stand alone modems so you will receive a superhub which has router built in.

Kind Regards,
