I'm on cable and starting several hours ago have had problems with certain websites not connecting and email failing.
The domains in question are hosted with Orchard Hosting, but they have no problem at their end.
I can FTP to the domains, but not browse them - or if they do come up it takes several minutes and the pages are incomplete. I use Outlook for email and although my ntlworl address seems to work, any on the hosted domains just time out.
I have a 3Com OfficeConnect wireless router connected to my VM cable modem. I have tried alternate DNS servers, but no improvement. Funnily enough, even getting through the registration pages for this forum involved making and drinking a cup of tea while one page refreshed.
I was able to browse the sites in question by remote desktopping to another computer and going out through that. Hardly convenient, but proved the site was working.
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks. That worked with IE9.
Doesn't explain what the problem was and Outlook is still failing on the email, but at least some progress made!

what is wrong with Outlook? Any error message?
Try switching to virginmedia servers (works for all legacy domains as well as @virginmedia.com)
pop3.virginmedia.com
port 995
SSL on
do not tick SPA
smtp.virginmedia.com
smtp server authentication (full email address and password)
port 465
SSL on

Outlook is working with my ntlworld address, but times out on accounts using my hosted domain and the associated pop server.

I am now using a proxy of webcache.virginmedia.com:8080 in IE9
Outlook has picked up some emails to my domain on Orchard Hosting, but still timing out on some presumably older messages.
Thanks

Did you mean to post the "." at the end of that link?
Without it i get redirected to a customer secure aspx page.
With it, it just errors to page not found (but im guessing its cause of the ".")
Anyway, i can get onto "www.virginmedia.com/remote" fine.
However, applications that use secure login (at the moment, World of Warcraft, and the eu.battle.net) dont work.
Paypal is fine, the steam application is fine, guardian is fine, facebook is fine, hotmail is fine.

I didn't notice the colon at the end. I also got the login page without it!

(I have edited the address of the first 2 hops from my router as I don't won't to post that info)
I cannot get to any on The Lord of the Rings USA websites to start the Euro to US migration of our servers that started yesterday. I also have problems with Testdrive Unlimted 2 and WoW. All the websites that do not work I can get to work using a different proxy.
