Re: Packet loss in the WV3 area

Hi Edddddd,

I am very sorry to hear about your issues.  I have checked your connection and network segment and all power levels are spot on.  The only issue is the spikes of utilisation at certain times. For example I have just pinged your modem and got a great response and also pinged the BBC website copying the route of your connection and again its perfect, in both circumstances I was not getting a ping over 32ms and that was using a 1Kb ping packet size.

We will continue to monitor the utilisation and if it gets to a level that we can raise to our Networks Team we will do so straight away.  I am sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you.

Kind Regards,

Re: Packet loss in the WV3 area

Hi Edddd

It appears that you have been affected by a low signal issue as well as the high utilisation spikes identified by James for the past few days. A fault has been open on your network segment for low signal levels and high error rates under fault ref F002085995. This fault was restored earlier today and is currently in a monitoring period before being closed off as resolved.
Signal levels have been showing as stable since approx midday today.
There are still periods of high utilisation on both the upstream and downstream parts of your network segment, so you are still likely to see some lag at peak times, but the packet loss should now be much improved.
We will continue to monitor the utilisation levels on your network segment and get these escalated as a fault should they get any higher.
Kind Regards,

Steve Brett

Re: Packet loss in the WV3 area

Hi Edddd

Utilisation levels on your network segment haver now reached a level where I can raise this up as a fault, and I have sent the details through today to our outage team for a ticket to be raised.

I will update this thread with the fault reference once received back.
Kind Regards,

Re: Packet loss in the WV3 area

Fault reference F002092061 has now been raised for this issue. It will be a few days before an estimated resolution date is available as the work will need to be assessed and planned.

Re: Packet loss in the WV3 area

Hi Edddddd,

I have just checked for an update on fault reference F002092061.

A 3rd upstream channel has been planned to alleviate the congestion. Work for this is targeted for completion in early September.

Kind Regards,
