I thought the previous “From July” was rather unlikely.
It’s now saying “Your speed upgrade is going to take a little longer. We estimate your area will be ready between: December 2012 and May 2013”.
So that’ll probably be 2014 then.
I wonder how many people got mis-sold packages from CS. I phoned them about something in February and got the “Why not upgrade your package now and in a couple of months your speed will be doubled.” Notice that they were saying “will be” not “might be”.
Ho hum.

Get real - it's the "gullibility chromosome" built into the "human genome"...... ![]()
Brighton's SD upgrades slipping were almost a foregone conclusion even if VM's local Field ops hadn't probably gone over budget and still had the additional resource availble then our local council planning authority would have scuppered any extra colateral civil engineering works during the tourist season anyway! ![]()
VM is further down the pecking list than even Water/Gas main renewals along the seafront during previous summer seasons that hoteliers/traders(and residents) were spitting blood over! ![]()

For me the July date was discussed and agreed as part of my contract renewal with retentions.
Why 'complaining'? Because yet again VM trample on their existing customer base. New customers get 30MB/s now for the same price as I pay for 10Mb/s

Hi All
As stated on the doublespeed website, both the older version and the new.
"Important information
Dates are based on our current engineering plans and may be subject to change as we develop a more detailed schedule based on your personal requirements. For example, we may need to undertake further upgrades in your area before the speed increase. Some customers may also require an installation visit to ensure they receive the full benefit of the upgrade. Postcode checker is based on existing customer information, new customers may be upgraded later than the dates displayed."
If it's any consolation to anyone, my region is now showing that I may not be doubled until August 2013, but I would rather wait for the upgrades to be done properly than insist on getting them rushed through before the network is ready for them, and perhaps ending up with a worse service than at present because the network cannot take the load.

Thats what it says for Basingstoke RG22 area as well, at first it was June 2012 then from July 2012 now between Dec 2012 and May 2013, perhaps it's not going to happen at all, after all the cables can't cope with peak times as it is a often downloads on up to 10mb can go as low as 1mb. Oh well.
