Hi,
I am currently a student in Leeds and we get the 30 meg broadband package, at really random points in the day and during peak hours consistently the internet speed will drop to under a meg and the packet loss in any sort of online game I'm playing will just go through the roof making it unusable. We can't even stream a 360p video from youtube because there is so much packet loss that the video just stops loading...
I was told it would be fixed last year around december, then january, then february and it's still not been fixed. It's clearly a high demand problem because when all the students go on holidays the internet works perfectly...
Is there any chance I could get any information on whether or not VM are going to bother fixing this issue soon?
In a few months I'm going to have to get new contracts for things and I will probably not be going with VM if these issues are not guarenteed to be fixed...

Hi KieranG8791
The UBR which handles your connection is currently suffering from very high utilisation, particularly at peak times. This has been raised to our network teams. Please check back in a few days for an update.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Are you in the LS7 area? I'm also seeing very poor performance in Leeds: http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Up-to-30Mb-bro

I'm LS6 mate, I assume same UBR though.

Yep KieranG8791 we must be on the same UBR that's the same fault reference I got a couple of days ago. At least it has an expected fix date now, though judging by other posts on this forum I get the impression the dates are pretty flud.
I guess we'll both find out in a month.
