Frustrating, isn't it?
Communication is not a strong feature of Virgin Media; which is ironic.
I think that, to be fair on the moderators - who always do seem genuinely to want to help - there are not very many of them, they cover a huge number of topics and complaints, and they get overwhelmed.
In some ways it might be helpful to consider this. At the same time you are, as you suggest, entitled to a service. We all are.
My own recommendation is, as I've suggested above, give the formal complaints procedure one chance to fix it, then go straight to the Chief Executive.
Good luck.

Hi clarky1983,
I have checked your local router (UBR) and can see that there are periods of high load which will cause your speed to slow. If this load continues to increase this will be passed to our network teams to look at ways to alleviate some of the load.

Hi Rose,
Thanks for the response. As it currently stands, my connection is still completely unuseable.
Online gaming - which was the main reason I opted for VM connection in the first place - is impossible. I am constantly either kicked out of games, or the lag is so great they are not worth playing. If you look around other threads, it becomes apparent that this is definitely an issue in this area.
Annoyingly there was no such problem until about a month ago.
Have you any idea how long it usually takes for the network team to fix these probelms, or is it simply a case of waiting indefinitely?
Thanks

Hi clarky1983,
I have raised this issue to our network support team as this is getting worse as time goes by. I will be able to provide you with a reference number once one has been assigned.

Ditto the same problems as everyone else here:-

I used to have excellent connection speeds. Now gaming is almost impossible

Hi adszuki,
Could you create your own thread if you haven't done so already so we can investigate this further?

I think the issue is less a house/street specific one than it is a particular region - see
or
or for the LS6 area, which is approximately 2 streets away from where I am in LS4 - I don't know the virgin media cable setup but wouldn't be surprised if the same servers were used:-
My experience is so extraordinarily similar to that of all the users who have posted on here it seems superfluous to create a new thread. I would rather see an administrator merging all the threads together as it seems clear to me (with my albeit limited knowledge) that the common theme is extremely poor speeds at peak times in this area. I would think that to be a hardware/investment/infrastructure issue.
But if it helps I'm happy to add to the cacophany and create another thread .... please let me know if it's needed.
Thanks

My advice would be to add another thread. Likewise, anyone else experiencing the same problem.
One thread = one complaint, however many people add their comments to it. 100 threads = 100 complaints.
Go for it.

Hi All
There are many different upstreams, cards and chassis that service customers in any one area, the issues mentioned in these tickets are all localised to an individual upstream or downstream and are not regional issues. As requested please create a new thread and we will investigate the issue for you.
