Hi, I'm currently paying £37 a month for 20mb on our XL package. Am I right in understanding that if I pay £30 for this 30mb upgrade (as I dont have a superhub) my monthly billing will drop to £20 a month ?
The £37 is before any appropriate discounts. The price of £18.50 for XL 30 is after discounts (when taken with a phone line). To confirm what price you'll be paying if you went for XL (30) then you'll need to speak to Customer Service

tml the so called Superhub is free as is delivery, so you are telling me that it costs £30 to activate the upgrade, find that hard to beleive. That page is for customers taking out 30Mbit as a new service. They do not pay the fee as they will be paying an extra £18.50 a month for 30Mbit
You've lost me there. New Customers pay £18.50 a month for 30mb, existing customers pay £18.50 a month plus the one off Activation Tax, where does it say new customers will pay an extra £18.50.

"Customers on non-standard pricing will need to move to standard pricing to receive these offers."
Does this clause in the small print mean that anyone upgrading from 20MB to 30MB will automatically move to the standard £18.50 per month? I'm currently paying £25 (£37 less £12 discount), so am assuming the small print will override the usual 'you are paying what was agreed at the time you took out the contract' VM argument.

If you don't make any changes you will remain on the current price you pay for the services
Remember this is basically the same as the other previous tier uplifts. i.e. for no extra cost. The reason this is slightly different is because of the need of the SuperHub
So rather than force the new kit on everyone for the fee they are giving you the choice. Personally I think it's a reasonable option
Same as why XL (20) will remain available for exisiting broadband customers, so if they don't want to mess around with the SuperHub or the activation fee they can still get an upgrade
So the VMDG280 doesn't support this yet was only recently rolled out. I only signed up in November, and now feel slightly cheated to be honest.

3) You last point is a moot point as its only your opinion, a piece of hardware is not "buggy" because it lacks settings you want, it could be said to be "lacking" but once again its for user friendlyness as most users are n00bs are would not know how to config a fully fledged router as this model is before it was crippled by firmware !
You should read more, there are plenty on here compaining about the (not so)Superhub.
What did people do before these hubs then? They configured the router themselves, it isn't hard, in fact you still have to do it with the new kit, don't want to play with the advanced settings you leave them alone. What you don't do is cripple kit that may actually be some use once they sort out the lack of USB ports, constant wireless disconnections and random reboots.

I only joined today smartass so how the hell can I read all posts esp when most are dupe questions over and over in multiple threads !
I know enough (more than you it would seem on topic) to know what settings can effect the Superhub.
If you read everything and take it to heart instead of trying for yourself then your beyond help TBH.
Again simple solution is do not upgrade end of story !
Instead of having a dig at my reading skills you should learn some basic English skills in typing like new sentences, paragraphs and basic punctuation then your posts may be readable. ![]()

Nice...
1 - You have no idea what I know and don't know.
2 - You don't have to read every thread, there are plenty reporting issues.
3 - Once you upgrade there is no going back, hardly an incentive.
4 - I pay for this service, I expect to be able to use it as I see fit, they unwritten rule was everything up to the cable modem was VM/Telewest, everything after ours, they have opted to change this and I disagree, last I checked I was still able to do this.
5 - Pointing out grammar faults is the last act of someone with little to contribute.
HAND.

And your still ranting on and talking nonsense !
I mentioned your lack of basic English skills because you were being a smartass towards me !
If you took a leaf out your own book and did some "reading" you would know there is a way to use the Superhub as a "modem only" without any mods and without the supposed new firmware that is due !
If you ain't happy cancel and go with ADSL !

Decided to go for this, rang up C/S earlier and it looks like no one has told them about this deal, they wanted to still charge me £20 @ month, pay the £30 for the superhub and also charge me a £40 activation fee, half an hour later and onto the 3rd C/S person they found this deal. Will be checking my next bill closely !!!!
