wired PS3 download speed issue

I am on 100mb service that was upgraded from the 50mb service, I am also using the newest superhub and I am on my 3rd one.

I havent really used my ps3 a great deal of late but the other night when I had to download a small 150 mb patch it too ages. So the next day I thought I would do some testing and download a 80mb vid from the ps store. I am now getting 1 mb every 6-7 seconds where previously I was getting 1mb plus per second. I am using my ps3 using a cat 6 cable, I have also tried it on wireless and its still the same slow speeds.

I have also had high ping times aprox 20ms and always seem to experience lag in games too.

I have downloaded large games from steam and had no issues at all it is only the ps3 that is having issues.

I get these issues at all times of day and wondered if anyone actually had a fix for this issue?

Hello,

I'm not some expert or VM Staff but I did have the same issue as you. I Have a 100mb and download content from my ps3 taking a while to download but I found a way that helped me.

Go too this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDQoYcv8oa8 if you have the "superhub" which I assume so. Basically what I did is if you follow the video/steps he changes the Internet connection settings on his ps3 through the "DMZ Setting" found on the superhub router log. Before downloads would be very slow for me but afterwards I changed the settings it improved a lot.

Like I said I'm just a customer trying too help but hopefully it does.

Thanks Jakeeee I did try putting the ps3 in the dmz yeesterday and it made no difference at all :'( I tried the iPlayer on the ps3 last night and was able to stream in hd with no issues so it looks like its isolated to the store itself. This makes me believe something like throttling is going on as for the last 2 years I had no issues at all downloading from the store.

All fixed now the issue was with a corrupt file system on the PS3 hence why the speed tests were fine and I could stream. I hope this may help someone else going forwards.

When downloading I also needed to pause the download then restart it for it to download at full speed.
