Only one happy with 100mb ?

After reading lots of threads on this forum , i was starting to think i maybe was doomed after getting Virgin media installed in Feb?

Heres my conclusion

100mbit is Great , i get between 89-104mbit . Only issue i have had is the router side of the superhub is a pile of rubbish , i replaced it with a cheapy £10 Second hand wireless N router off of ebay and now works perfect . ( no more wireless drop outs ! )

TV , catchup is great ! has stopped working a few times for our box's . But comes back eventually . Normal TV is fine and always seems to work .

Phone .. Apart from giving us some dodgy number which some scummy debt ridden person obviously had before us ( we got a number of calls from debt collections , Indians telling us there from MS and other randoms) . It works fine and a no interference like our BT line did !

Thumbs up from me ! ( at the moment lol ! )

Luke.

Yes, happy with 100mb here as well, however with modem and my own Router combo !!

TV glitches the odd time, but mostly great  :smileyhappy:

I'm also very happy with the 100 meg. Can't comment on the superhub as I don't have one. Speed varies between 95 and 104 meg

My 100mb works great when my mum's partner isn't on the connection, thankfully that doesn't happen often and i look forward to my 120mb :smileyhappy:

Re: Only one happy with 100mb ?

what I would do is login to the hub and ban his ip from using the net hahaha JK

but what routers/hubs do you all use? I find it so much easier to use the super hub and I have the beta R36 firmware and it runs so smoothly, plus I love having a hub rather then a modem and a router.. much less wires and hassle imo

Re: Only one happy with 100mb ?

Had it for a week now with no issues at all. 12MB download speeds pretty much constantly, 104Mb or so showing in Speedtest... fantastic speeds.

I've heard the superhub is a bit naff and, while i haven't had any issues yet, i'm definitely upgrading to a better router asap (if only for dual band support as my flat mate's laptop doesn't support the 5ghz line and he's too bone idle to upgrade).

All i will say is that i think people get confused between MB and Mb. People can't honestly expect 100 megaBYTE download speeds can they? A 10GB file in 10 seconds? Now THAT would be worth any amount of money.

Anyone have any suggestions for decent dual-band routers that work well with 100Mb cable?

Re: Only one happy with 100mb ?

also, does anyone know if i would see an increased speed over wireless using a 5ghz line rather than 2.4? I know 5ghz is shorter range but all user's of the superhub in our house are sat within 5 feet of it XD
