Do i need new modem gets boiling hot?

every time i turn on wireless my download goes crazy and before i know it ive got avg 20 gig downloaded.

ive rebooted modem ive changed password , but since this has happened my modem gets very hot even hotter than before and no it not in a box its open on top of glass table away from eveything and on its on plug too wall socket and it does turn its self off at random times wheres theres no lights on modem and u have too turn it off at the mains too get it too work again at this point the modem is boiling hot! it came with the right mains plug as well.

Check the power supply for your modem. If you're using a super hub I believe the output for your power supply should be at 12v 1.5A.

If you're power supply has those specs then maybe give virgin media a ring and explain the problem to them.

Even with a under rated PSU the SH would not get that hot.

AMWSmith is probably right. Give virgin media a ring and tell them your problem.

thxs 4 the comments going too try around 3 pm but i stated the plug is right
