TiVo Remote / recorded program / catch up

I have recently had TiVo installed but I find the remote control will not pause a recorded show. It plays ok (same button). Other buttons appear ok but then I haven't used them all.

I also have issues getting catch up programs to work - I managed to get a show by using the EPG and going to earlier in the day (then it took me to BBC iPlayer) but starting via catch up just returns to the TV channel.

1 thing you mention is that play and pause is the same button. If you have the proper Tivo remote (kind of shaped like a peanut with a rounded back) then then the play button is seperate from the big yellow pause button in the middle of the controls. Sounds like you may have the wrong control which would not be a first.

The catchup thing sounds an issue.

I think the remote is branded with TiVo on it. I did get a replacement V+ box at the same time so maybe the remotes got swapped as this has the peanut style one.

You are pausing it with the yellow round button on the middle of the remote yeah?
