Hi,
I recently ‘upgraded’ from V+ to TiVo. However, something that I used a lot with V+ does not appear to be possible with TiVo and I’m confused as to why. Will you be adding the ability to set reminders for programs and the ability to auto channel change? If not I’m seriously going to consider having to swap my boxes around which I’m not really happy about doing as I would expect my ‘main’ and most modern box to do everything the ‘older’ boxes could, and more, particularly something as useful as this. I really hope that you are going to be adding this soon.
Thank you

Reminders have been added in the latest update which everyone is getting over the next few days. A VM employee on the cable forum has said that it does auto change to the channel. It isn't exactly like the V+ as it records the show as well as reminds it.

Hi hannahf,
The engineer likely installed a box at the 15.2 software standard. By the end of next week this will be upgraded to v15.3, which will include the ability to set reminders, albeit not exactly as it is on the V+HD boxes.
These two threads should explain things in advance of you being able to try them for yourself:

Hi passingbat,
Have you got a link to that post, because it's certainly not the behaviour I've observed.

Unless they've changed something in the past 3/4 days, then the functionality is as shown in the first of the two links I posted above - It gives you the option to change the channel yourself, but doesn't do it automatically.
The only instance where I can assume it would do is if 2 tuners are recording something, and you're watching the third non-recording tuner. In that case, the tuner you're viewing has to change channel to start rercording anyway!

Hi all thank you so much for your helpful replies. That’s really useful. It’s not a problem at all if it records too. It doesn’t bother me to delete it but more than likely it might be something I’d want to record anyway if it was important enough to set a reminder ;-)
PrinterElf thank you too for links and especially the additional info about auto-change as that would really bug me if it wasn’t happening. A shame it’s not automatic but it’s better than nothing!
Thank you

Hi hannahf,
Glad it all makes some sort of sense
It might be possible to add in the auto-tune feature at a later date, but don't hold your breath ![]()
Have you had the update yet, or are you still waiting?
