I recently tried using the Spotify app but the sound quality is so poor I just can't use it. I can stream Spotify through my sound system using my internet radio and the sound is superb, so why is it so bad from the Tivo box?
Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

How is your TiVo connected to your home theatre system?
Mines is connected with an optical cable and the sound quality of Spotify is great.

Thanks for your response Brydo666. You give me hope - it may be my connection that's the problem. I'm just using the audio output from my tv which comes from the tivo box through the hdmi connection. Sounds like I need to connect the tivo direct into the sound system - mine's a BOSE and rather old so I don't know if I can use an optical connection. I'll have a look though and report back. Great to hear from you.

Another option for you to try if you don't have an optical connection, is using a SCART > Phono cable like the one I've linked below. It'll allow you to use the Audio from the SCART but allow you to keep the video running through HDMI.
http://amzn.to/QnoxYM (The yellow phono cable wouldn't need to be connected)
I'm not sure if this will improve over your current setup, but at <£2 it could be worth a try.

Absolutely brilliant Brydo666. When I read your reply I realised I already had an adaptor for a SCART socket which converts it to sockets for phono cables. So I used this and connected the audio outputs direct to the BOSE and the improvement is fantastic. I haven't really tested the tv sound yet but I presume that'll be infinitely better as well. I never would have thought of that myself. You've made my day - Thank You!
