NetFlix

Netflix keeps on kicking in traffic management

What's the point of having broadband when there are so many restriction on your allowance. I know the chances are very remote but it would be great if Virgin could come to some deal with NetFlix and have it's app on the Tivo box .then there would be no problem with traffic management kicking in when viewing films on Netflix. We can only hope.!!!!!

Re: NetFlix

Except by all reports I've heard the Netflix library is mainly old stuff. I'm usually waiting for the latest films to be released on DVD or Blu-ray

I checked out a film I want to see which appeared in the Discovery Bar, but Virgin want £3.99 to watch it, which is £2 more than I'm willing to pay. My local library loans it for £1.50 so I can wait a little while and save £2.49.

Re: NetFlix

That doesn't mean that Netflix *shouldn't* be on there. It would be a killer app for this PVR.

VM seem more interested in bringing us 'promotional' apps, the latest one being for True Blood on FX. That follows similar apps for Harry Potter and Twilight.

Its ironic how they can add promotional apps for movie content but not apps which shows the actual movie content.

Re: NetFlix

Try the US Netflix it is brialliant no need for Sky Movies at 26.50 a month, using unblock us £32 a year to access the US version that comes to less than nine pounds a month to access all the US shows and movies.  Got it via my Xbox and Apple TV.  Cancelled Sky Movies in a heartbeat.

HDFootyMan You are spot on with what you have just said. Apart from the bbciplayer and YouTube app the others are just gimmicks. The tivo is not being used to it's max potential as far as the apps are concerned.

Re: NetFlix

I'll be cancelling my free NetFlix trial this week - whilst the service itself is really good (and quick, now I'm on 30MB), the content is a bit "old" (as mentioned).  I watched a few things I'd not seen in ages, or couldn't find elsewhere - but unless quite a bit of content appears rapidly, I can't see the appeal lasting!

I love Netflix, quality film HD streaming and TV content. There is no way VM will ever use it, it wouldnt be a killer App, it would be a PVR killer. At £5.99 a month it's also a Godsend.

Re: NetFlix

It would be a killer App for TiVo due to no bandwidth caps and independent bandwidth - something no other PVR or media streamer would be able to lay claim to.
