Re: My 2 Cents worth for any newbies

In case of a clash sometimes suggestions are recorded 'instead' of your planned recordings which is not right and planned recordings should always take priority over suggestions. You can switch off suggestions if it causes a problem

does this mean if i record something i want and suggestions has 3 programs it wants to record my recording will be disregarded ???

if thats the case thats a huge problem that needs sorting?

No - Suggestions are not given priority and rarely record 3 suggestions at once (never happened to me) but more likely is that you might set up couple recordings that start at 9:00 and another at 9:30 but 'a suggestion' might also start at recording at 9:00 so your 9:30 wont get recorded - whereas 'a suggestion' shouldn't recorded at all if you've already made specifc plans = suggestions should be given lowest priority

Re: My 2 Cents worth for any newbies

still a bit confused !

From what you say above it sounds like a suggestion would take priority??

Whatever the case its a problem that will hopefully get ironed out soon.

cheers

"Buffers 60 min on each of the 3 tuners so if you decide to record a programme half way through it will record it from the beginning"

Does it? How is that set up then?

Re: My 2 Cents worth for any newbies

using the info button, drop down to the three R's and select the tuner in question. when on that tuner hit the red R button and it'll save the buffer at the very least - the 60 minute buffer may still not have the start of the programme if its longer than an hour.

You can't dictate which channels the 3 tuners are buffering except for sure one will be the channel you're watching - say you start watching a programme (or just walk in and it's on TV) - if you decide to record it retrospectively it will record it from the beginning (within one hour) - that's actaully normal behaviour for most PVR's but not the case with V+, VCR's or DVD'r that only record from the point where you press record

if you press 'info' and scroll to the bottom menu item you can see which other channels/programmes are being buffered and can even switch to watching them or even record those retrospectively too
