I have two TiVo boxes. I believe they are connected, but when i go to "my shows" i cannot see my other box or any content on this box. So something is obviously not working. The reason why i think the boxes are connected is because when I go to the Multiple-room streaming page I see both my TiVo boxes. One has an* next to it, which I presume is the box I am using to see the menu. This box says "can stream content cannot transfer". The other box has a service number but says "no host information available", which is the other box in the house. Can someone help with why I cannot see my second TiVo box in my shows given above?
If you had your 2nd box added recently (and after your first box) you may need to try manually connecting to the VM on your first box. The reason seems to be that when your 2nd box is installed your account is updated to say you have two but if your first box hasn't connected to the VM network since the sencond box was installed then it doesn't know about the 2nd box. However in this scenario you get error messages on both boxes when you try to connected them.

Even when both boxes can see each other there really isn't much point as for some reason all of the channels have been blocked from streaming due to 'broadcaster restrictions' so I can't stream between the boxes but there is nothing to stop be recording the same channel at the same time on both boxes.
Don't you just love UK outdated copyright laws.

I doubt it's copyright laws, more terms of the licence VM has with each of the channels. Doesn't make the duplicate recording scenario you highlight as any less ridiculous. Any more ridiculous is that I could quite easily download most the films/shows that I record and stream them to any room in my house from my NAS.

The way the music industry buried it's head in the sand for twenty years over the price of CDs. If they had reduced the price to what everyone knew was a realistic price, instead of ripping customers off, there might still be a future for new musicians.

Thankfully the music industry woke up. I now buy most of my music using my phone. Go to a gig, see a support band, like them, buy the album and listen to it on the way home, phone syncs automatically with my NAS as soon as I get in to the house and I can listen to the album on my AV system within minutes. To hell with buying CDs again.
This can be done for stadium bands or small scale DIY punk bands who are now no longer reliant on HMV stocking their niche product. The most I have ever paid for an album puchased in this manner is about £8....bargain.
I'd love to be able to buy both old and current films/TV shows like this. My wife and I used to go to the cinema at least twice a week, kids prevent this sort of thing now but we would quite happily pay to watch films currently showing in the cinema say £5 for a stream and £10 to keep the film forever. Same with TV shows, I'd have happily given HBO £20-£30 for season 2 of Game of Thrones.
It's crazy that there is an industry that claims to be struggling that is turning it's back on paying customers. Objecting to multi room streaming & copying from TiVo to external storage is just an extension of this nonsense.

I can see both boxes (well one is starred and one isn't).
I will try a reboot and see what happens, but the second box is not connected via ethernet cable.
If it is possible to stream, why not invest in the "through the electricity" option instead of laying cables if you need to?
Multi-streaming would be useful so I can watch the stuff I have taped in the bedroom one downstairs whilst my wife is asleep.
