Hey
At the moment we're on VIP50 I think we pay around £102 a month and it will be going up by £4.25 next month does anyone know if this will enable us to cancel our contract? its not so much the price increase that's the problem its the quality of the service and to put a price increase on this kind of service seems like a joke.
The internet is almost unusable instead of 50mb were getting around 1mb download speeds (estimated fix date 5th April) and the Tivo is just to slow and has to many problems for our liking. Our hope is that because of the price increase we will be able to cancel our contract for the VIP50 and just go back to what we had before does anyone know if this would be possible?

Hi have you tried contacting virgin by phone 150or151 when it ask you to select which department select i want to leave or are unhappy. It should get you a uk call centre explain to them about you problems with your service it will be quicker than on here. You may be able to get a refund on some of your services while they sort out your problems.

Yes
A contract must be agreed by both parties = 'an agreement' = Every time VM unilaterally change the contract (alter the price), you can disagree = no longer have 'an agreement'

Not quite true, Jethro, as the contract has not been unilaterally changed by Virgin Media. Price increases are covered in the contract.
Price increases are, in fact, covered in the contract to the benefit of the customer, not Virgin Media. It allows customers to cancel if they wish on a price increase.

I cancelled with 10 months left of my hard fought re-negotiated contract from December remaining and within 5 days was offered a £5pm discount and 2 free months (£140 for me). Definitely worth the effort!

Hi - I've just joined this forum and want to know how I cancel my current Virgin Broadband contract. Have 6 months left on it. Does anyone have an address/telephone number?
