I cannot understand why BBC2 Wales is not available in the Bristol area. It's very close to Cardiff and Newport and a large percentage of people living in Bristol are Welsh. The most inane channels are available but not a very popular, one especially as you transmit the Welsh version of all the other main channels.
What is the reason ?

Simple. You are not in Wales. VM gets no income from the BBC, & it is an additional expense to pump more regional channels around the entire network when the majority of programmes are just simulcasts. VM has made the decision that it is viable to do this with the BBC1 national regions, as these carry the news programmes. The BBC2 variants are input locally to the regional headends, so are only available in these areas.
