iplayer

Hi cybmole did what you suggested and iplayer BBC works fine on all platforms except TiVo, ah well back to the drawing board

It would probably help if you added this to the end of the thread on which you got your previous advice or else pm cybmole, as here no one apart from cybmole has any idea what your talking about.. well not without searching to find your previous thread.. and therefore you wont get advice from alternative sources..

 That aside and this probably wont help at all, but you may find changing your dns servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (googles) instead of the virgin ones. For some reason iPlayer on tivo and V6 will pause for around 5 seconds if it fails a dns lookup, or will wait for however long it takes if its less then 5 seconds..

that's a good result- you have proven that the problem is not with the BBC, or with your broadband, or with your wifi .... so insist that Virgin sort it - their equipment, their responsibility

He cannot do that ( change DNS) inside of a tivo or a virgin hub. ( nor should he have to but that's by the by ). As the service fails on tivo, and only on tivo, as now established, then it's for vitgin to fix. Their equipment, Their cable, Their install, no user configurable links in the chain. [ except for the on/off switch ] the Tivo is locked onto Virgin's own DNS.

the Tivo is locked onto Virgin's own DNS. so it's replace the tivo or offer a V6 upgrade time

 dns change would be a good test if the service were failing on a PC or on a tablet, but i'ts not, apparently.

PS  only a mod can move or merge the posts. better that the OP leaves it for them, else he breaks the double posting rules by adding the same reports to his older thread.
