Re: Virgin deploys VOIP

It works because the last leg is still over coaxial cable.  FTTP simply brings the point at which the Fibre gives way to coaxial to the customers premises. instead of ending at an optic node a few streets away.  The connection with the hub still uses the DOCSIS 3 standard.

Re: Virgin deploys VOIP

No mention of how I actually get a voip service from them. Currently I get two residential SIP lines (No line rental) and a 3 line sip trunk that costs me ~£4.50 a month. I would be interested to know what Virgin are able to offer? Pity I have to have a virgin unconnected line which I have to pay for in order to reduce my monthy package costs

Re: Virgin deploys VOIP

There isn't any way of choosing the option at present, which is why it's not mentioned. It's a limited rollout in FTTP areas only.

Re: Virgin deploys VOIP

It's a pity VM don't concentrate on ensuring what they offer is fully working first!!

HUB 3 drop-outs/slow  wifi  etc etc   ... ZVNK ...

Re: Virgin deploys VOIP

Agreed. Still have issues with my Hub 3 but I can just about live with them. Have to reboot once a day to keep a stable connection. Such a shame that they cant concentrate on fixing the most important issues!

Package: VIVID 100 Broadband TV M and Talk Unlimited.
