Streaming with Red Eye

Hi there, we are changing from Sky to Virgin next week. Currently, we have our sky box in the living room and have a cable which goes from the RF2 socket of the box round to a tv in the kitchen; we have a red eye to control the tv in the kitchen. Can you do this with the virgin box? We were looking at having 2 virgin boxes but wanted our second box upstairs, as we never use the kitchen and living room at the same time. Can we do this type of connection with the virgin box using a red eye and cable??

Re: Streaming with Red Eye

The only output from the new V6 box is hdmi. The old Tivo had a scart output.

Hi,
Is there anyway, with the new V6 box to achieve the same setup we already have?. Does the V6 box have an ariel output?

The last VM boxes that had an RF output was the SA V+ that is now obselete & went out of production over 10 years ago. All new boxes (including Sky's) are digital only & require an HDMI connection. To use the old system would now require a splitter & two levels of conversion (digital to analogue composite video, & then composite video to RF modulator). So you are looking 2 boxes behind the V6 plus possibly an amplifier, to get very mediocure picture quality at best.

That will work if the OP has MPEG4 (Freeview HD) TV's at all points. Bog standard Freeview is MPEG2 so will not work.
