HDMI cable

I've just had the new TiVo box  ( really impressed)  but cannot connect it to my DVD recorder which is HDMI using the old scart plugs.  The engineer showed me the HDMI port on the new box which is circular but cannot match it to the DVD, where can I get an appropriate cable?

Re: HDMI cable

The easiest way is to get an HDMI splitter, make sure you buy a good quality, powered one rather than a passive cheap connector.

By the way, the round socket isn't HDMI.

Hi

I'm not aux faix with the Tivo Box, so is it anything like this...

Tivo6.png

because I would go to a pound shop and buy a cable to connect to "DVD recorder which is HDMI".

http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/psg01083/lead-scart-to-13-pin-din-5m/dp/AV14770 shows a circular to rectangular cable but out of stock apparently.

The 'Scart out' socket on the V6 box is not operational.

Re: HDMI cable

So you are going from Tivo, to DVD and then to TV?

Amazon do SCART to HDMI converters around £15 - £20 which will do the job but I think you are loosing picture quality there so should look at upgrading your DVD recorder if you feel you really need one

Re: HDMI cable

I've never found any DVD recorder that takes HDMI input, all new one give HDMI output of course.

Re: HDMI cable

You won't find any recording equipment with an HDMI input. HDMI outputs from all TV boxes are HDCP encrypted to ensure they cant be used for direct recording. An HDMI to Scart Digital/Analogue converter is now required between the two to record content
