Fibre Cable

We have signed up with Virgin.  They plan to get a construction crew to lay cable from the cabinet (about 30 meters) to the properties.  Is the cabinet to property cable, fibre or co-ax? DOCSIS 3. What is that exactly? We have opted for Vivid 200, up to 200mbps, achievable?

What colour is the cable that comes into the property? Sorry for all the questions.

Re: Fibre Cable

Probably DOCSIS coax (actually DOCSIS 3 is more of a transmission standard as and the cable that can support it) but they are moving to FTTP so you may get fibre

Both would easily give you 200Mbps

Whether or not you actually get 200Mbps is a different story and most often related to how oversold your area is or if anything is broken in your local infrastructure.

My cable terminates at a box on a wall, however all the cable from that in my house is white.

Re: Fibre Cable

As the other poster has stated .....depending on your area and the possibility of over-subscription, Vivid 200 will achieve 200Mbps or greater.

If you signup for the Vivid 300 package , you could indeed achieve 300Mbps or greater.

Regarding the colour of the cable ..... It is white , see below ...
