Vbox wont work!

Morning, a couple of questions for you.

1:- My Vbox will not work. The power light is on (red) but it won't go further than that, there is nothing on the LCD screen which normally has the channel number in it it's just black/blank even the switches next to it don't do anything.

There are new batteries in the remote so it's not the remote, and I have had the box unlugged over night while I was sleeping and retried it this morning and it still wont work, any help or info would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible?

2:- I have also had a message on the TV saying that my smart card was/is invalid. What is the reason for that?

Thank you

Re: Vbox wont work!

The red light means the box is broken

Re: Vbox wont work!

My V box is behaving is just the same this morning. Red light and nothing else. When I first looked at it it seemed to be doing something like rebooting. I turned the power off for 30 secs and when I turned it back on there was just the red light and nothing else...Is this just a coincidence or could there be some other fault? I live in north London.

PS I am aware that with so many millions of customers it probably just is a coincidence but thought I would ask!

PPS is it worth me changing the fuse in the plug??

Mark

Re: Vbox wont work!

To my astonishment my V Box, having been dead since I posted on here yesterdat, has suddenly sprung back to life and is working normally.

So in my case anyway the red light did not mean it was broken. I am very confused and wondering whether to cancel the engineer who is due tomorrow. There would now not seem to be anything for him/her to fix....

Re: Vbox wont work!

Well I ended up calling Virgin (despite not wanting too coz I had to use a mobile) and got an appointment booked for yesterday, the engineer came round installed a new box and everything is back to normal now.

Thanks once again to the person who first replied to my Original Post, if he hadn't of done so I'd STILL BE WAITING for a reply from someone who actually works for VIRGIN in this forum to respond and I'd be none the wiser as to what was wrong with my Vbox, and my box was indeed dead.

Safe to say I'm NOT impressed with the Virgin staff in here.

Re: Vbox wont work!

Mine has stopped working again this morning and I btterly regret cancelling the engineer. When I get a moment I will brace myself for another half hour on the phone to Virgin...
