V+ problem - false recording light and no picture and sound

Have a very strange problem with out V+ box.

Over the past few weeks we have been getting a problem where we have no sound our picture.  The OSD is working.  The only way to fix this was to reset the box.

This morning I noticed one of the recording lights was showing nut nothing was being recorded.  I manually set 2 channels to record and suddenly lost picture, 3 recording lights were on.

I Cancelled one of the recordings and the picture came back.  I'm sure this was probably happening when we had the same fault previously.

Phoned 151 and got no help, tried to explain the problem and was told they would contact networks and to wait 24 hours???

Can't see how it's a network problem sounds as if the box is faulty. Its a SA box still get the occasional delay in responding to the remote, never mind the usual no response around midnight.

Not very happy to be told to wait 24 hours (for what to happen??).  Anybody any ideas?

Thanks

Jamie

Re: V+ problem - false recording light and no picture and sound

[ Edited ]

I would try a format to start with as this will put the hard drive back to as new state. If that still does not help then it would probably be time for a tech visit.

To do a format follow the below (note all recordings will be deleted)

On remote

Press HOME

Hold down Play/Pause until box displays E-00

Press V+ or TVDRIVE box display should now say E-01

Press channel down 4 times until box says hdd4

Leave and box will reboot, format is now complete
