Cbeebies is a regularly watched channel in our household. This morning there was no sound (and if another channel was selected going back to channel 702 sometimes resulted in no picture).
Yesterday it was absolutely fine.
All other channels which we subscribe to have sound and picture.
Other services - catchup tv work.
Broadband and telephone working.
I've restarted the Virgin box and all cables are connected correctly.
I phoned Virgin and although their screens show that the signal is all fine (unsurprising considering that everything else is working) they are going to monitor the situation and fix it but it will take 5 days. I don't imagine that someone is actually going to work on this issues for five days.
Anyway, I have read other threads reporting this same issue and am concerned that I am about to begin a roundabout of endless phone calls and multiple engineer visits. I hope not but time will tell.
Can anyone at Virgin media actually explain how the system works as this strikes me as a broadcast issue - one small part of the signal isn't getting through. The very nice Virgin Media lady on the phone was unable to explain it to me.

Thanks for your reply. Can you explain how the system works and why one channel can be transmitted without sound whilst all others work?
