remove old tivo from device list

so my tivo has been replaced, the engineer has taken away the old failed one.

but within the TVA app, both tivos are listed

I see no way to remove the old device from the list- is there one?

I wonder if it remains showing for the 14 day period that you can swap series links from the old box to the replacement one? https://help.virginmedia.com/system/templates/selfservice/vm/help/customer/locale/en-GB/portal/20030...

Re: remove old tivo from device list

surely all series links are stored locally in the device. so old ones they are on the dead hard drive.

i think you are saying it will maybe auto delete from the app after 14 days - we'll see.

maybe the app designers never thought about this.

it's only a minor point, but I saw no way to manage the device list from in the app. nor to rename the new tivo ( i think that option must be within the box menus as we'd renamed the old one )

Re: remove old tivo from device list

Series Links, Thumbs and Recording Wishlists are all backed up to TiVo's systems. So it is indeed possible to copy links from a dead box to a replacement - as long as it's within 14 days of the change.

You can rename a box via the TV Anywhere website, but you can't remove them from the lists.

One thing I'd also highlight is that there is a bug within the TVA website where the registered TV Anywhere devices show up as TiVo boxes that can't be renamed i.e. 'DVR-XXXX'. As far as I'm aware though these shouldn't then show as a box within the apps themselves.

Re: remove old tivo from device list

it has been a month since our dead tivo was replaced - the TVA app still offers a choice of 2 TIVO

Re: remove old tivo from device list

Is it definitely your old tivo, there was an issue on an older version of the app where it would show a an extra ghost tivo even if you'd only ever had 1.

Re: remove old tivo from device list

all i know for sure is that the 1st entry works OK for the new tivo. I have not actually tried the other one. there was only 1 entry before the box swap

Re: remove old tivo from device list

Sorry to hear this cybmole,

Are you still seeing the "ghost TiVo", since posting?

If so, have you tried deleting and re-installing the app? Or if streamed online, have you tried clearing cache & cookies, etc.?

Speak soon,

Nat_J

Re: remove old tivo from device list

it is still there but as I rarely use the app it's not a great annoyance.

happy to give it more time to fade away naturally Smiley Happy
