Re: any one had problems getting sky sports through tv anywhere?

Hi Derek,

Thanks for coming back to me on this Smiley Happy

We need to take TV Anywhere out of the equation as you can't use TV Anywhere to watch Sky Sports content.

Have you downloaded the Sky Sports app from Playstore?

Using a PC / Laptop log into anywhere.virginmedia.com > My Profile > Sky Movies / Sky Sports

Is your device registered here? If so, delete it.

Using your device again, log in to the Sky Sports app using your VM login Details. Select the Sports channel you wish to watch.

Do you get the same error message?

Let me know.

Thanks,

Hi coachdriverman,

Thanks for coming back and updating us on this Smiley Happy

Glad to hear that typing your details have worked.

When using the autofill option it often adds a space at the end which is classed as a character so it's always worth typing the details in.

When you hover over the My Profile section it should give you 3 options:

Device Settings                         Sky Movies & Sky Sports

Watch Later

Are you able to see the Sky options?

Thanks,

Re: any one had problems getting sky sports through tv anywhere?

Hi coachdriverman

Thanks for posting back on the community.

Sorry to hear that your now getting an error message getting Sky Sports.

For me to understand this issue. Do you get this error message when opening the Sky Sports app? Is it upon signing in? Or when your streaming a channel?

On which device do you get this message or is it on both?

Hope to hear from you soon

Sam

Re: any one had problems getting sky sports through tv anywhere?

I'm using a Samsung S5 and a Samsung tablet 10.5 (2014) edition.  The problem is on both.

I go through the TV Anywhere app ,I select the program the channel I want, press watch on phone, which I then have to exit to go into Sky I then get the "unexpected error.  Please try again later,"

If I want to watch a film I go through the same procedure to select channel, press watch on phone, exit to sky, it starts loading/ authorising and at about 60% done I either get the error message  "your session has expired, please sign in again"

Not sure I understand the last one.

Sorry its now two problems, perhaps Sky just wants us to pay more!

Any thoughts please?

Derek

Re: any one had problems getting sky sports through tv anywhere?

Hi Derek,

Thanks for coming back to us on this Smiley Happy

Just q few things to pick up on here. You've mentioned you're trying to access the Sky channels via the TV Anywhere app on both these devices. When it's redirecting you to Sky, is it coming out of the TV Anywhere app to the Sky Website on the browser?

If so, you'll need to go into the Playstore and download the Sky movies / Sky Sports Apps.

You can sign in via the Virgin Media login section.

I can see both these devices were registered so I have refreshed things at this end.

If you can log in to the app on the Samsung S5 first, select a channel and try and stream does this work?

Come back to me before re trying the tablet. As the S5 is Supported, it's best we stick to this device. Once we've got that working, we can move onto the tablet then.

Speak soon,

Re: any one had problems getting sky sports through tv anywhere?

Hi Kath

Sorry for the delay in reply, been out of wifi range.

I log into TV anywhere, select my Sky sports channel, (513), exit to watch, then I get loading followed by unexpected error. Please try again later.

I have tried the usual uninstall-reinstall but no difference.

Any thoughts please.

Derek

Settings / Apps / Sky Sports

Force stop / clear data / clear cache

Restart app & log in again using the VM logo button.

Re: any one had problems getting sky sports through tv anywhere?

That appears to have made it worse, all I now get is "Device Can't Stream".  this channel is not available for streaming on this network type.

It also applies to TV Anywhere. a real backward step.

Tried another delete/install of all apps but not good.

HELP!

Re: any one had problems getting sky sports through tv anywhere?

Hi Kath

I have both movie and sports apps.

You wrote "Using a PC / Laptop log into anywhere.virginmedia.com > My Profile > Sky Movies / Sky Sports"

but when I went to my profile page there is no mention of Sky Sports or Movies.

However, I tried logging into Sports using my VM name and password.  When I start entering my email address I get the auto tab to quickly complete the field.  This time I entered the address by keyboard and not the auto complete and Eureka success.  Don't know why the auto complete won't work but that's a question for another day and elsewhere.

Now for the tablet!

Thanks
