Thanks for your post and apologies for the issues you are having trying to watch Sky Sports 1 on your device.
Not many people know that the TV Anywhere and Sky app platforms are different and are therefore not synced. This means that any changes made to one also need to be made to the other.
In order to make room for your device, go to anywhere.virginmedia.com > My Profile > Sky Movies & Sky Sports. Here you will the devices currently registered for use with the Sky apps. Delete a device to make room for the device you want to use. Once this has been done you'll see a spare slot.
Go back to the app, on the device and attempt to stream. This will register the device automatically for you
